Magic Carpet
Support More Job Skills Training!

This page shows the three styles of soft, handmade female dolls made through
Magic Carpet's vocational training program in Azerbaijan. In addition, male
dolls are now available in green or blue (see below left). Through this program,
a professional seamstress is training teens from impoverished families how to
sew dolls in national Azeri costume, simultaneously imparting job skills and a
deeper understanding of their proud heritage.
The dolls are approximately 15 inches tall; females come in the three color
combinations pictured. Each doll is lovingly handmade with authentic details,
from her golden earrings to her leather slippers. But these dolls are not one of
those fragile, pricey museum pieces you find in tourist shops in Baku; Magic
Carpet dolls are designed to withstand all the playing, cuddling, dancing, etc.
that your little one can dream up for his/her new friend.
We request a $30 minimum donation in exchange for each doll (larger
donations gratefully accepted!). The cost of labor, materials and shipping has
been covered by Magic Carpet supporters, so 100% of your tax-deductible
donation will go to Azerbaijan to fund additional programs for
impoverished children.

NOTE: Male dolls in
green (see above) and
blue are now available

black "karakul" wool
hat). Order now!
